Travel Agent Becky

Need Some Help?

Maybe these frequently asked questions can help:

For most vacation packages, I do not charge any planning fees. I am paid by the hotel, cruise line, or resort that we ultimately book.

Rarely, I may charge a fee if I am unable to be paid by the supplier. I will always disclose the fee, and you would sign a contract agreeing to it. It would never come as a surprise.

When planning weddings, I do charge fees. Weddings have a lot more moving parts and require a ton of time and attention. Wedding couples that choose to work with me WANT my time and expertise.

Each wedding venue will have different packages and pricing. If we’re talking averages- I would say that for 50-60 guests in the Cancun area, many couples are spening $12,000- $20,000 on the destination and events.

The most common reason folks choose a travel agent is for saved time. Sure, you could also learn how to fix your sink and cut your own hair- but most of us outsource these jobs to the experts.

I have connectins in destinations, know the best car companies for transfers to the hotel, and can even set you up with some of the best excursions.

If you’re planning a Disney trip- I visit a Disney park several times per year to stay up-to-date with my advice and tips.

Traveling and planning is what I LOVE to do. Let an expert help.

Absolutely! Depending on what we have booked, I may process the payments on your behalf, or I may send you a link to to process the payments directly. Keep in mind, your money doesn’t come to ME specifically, unless I have disclosed any extra fees that may happen.

Your vacation MUST be paid in full on or before the deadline. If it is not, you risk the vacation being cancelled by the supplier.

Hurricane season in the Caribbean is quite long. Most agree that June 1- November 30 is when most hurricanes occur in the area. If you’re doing the math- that’s almost half the year.

If you plan to travel during the oficial hurricane season- you will often find better rates- but you may also need to be flexible.

And absolutely consider travel protection.

While I certainly CAN book airfare, it’s almost never in your best interest. Most airlines stopped working well with travel agents some time ago. You will have better service provided by the airline when you book direct. I am here to help you through the process as needed.

Since I work predominantly OUTSIDE of the United States, most of my clients will need a passport. I never recommend leaving U.S. soil without one. Even on a closed loop cruise.

And since we’re talking about passports, make sure they have a few pages left for stamps & have at least 6 months validity from the date of your return to the United States.

When you’re ready to start planing, the most important thing is to sign up for emails and pick a spot on my calendar. I only take new clients via an inital phone call. After our first call, we can chat via email if you prefer. The phone call helps me get to know you- and ultimately choose the best vacation options for you.

With each proposal I send out, I will also invite you to look at travel protection. No one ever really thinks they need it- until the NEED it. There are lots of different packages (and at differents price points), so lets at least consider something.
